to the Academy Village

This website is maintained by the residents of Academy Village in Tucson, Arizona. Academy Village is a new kind of retirement community which focuses on providing the means for seniors to remain actively engaged with life, with learning, with teaching, and with service to the community. Construction of homes began in the spring of 2000 and we are still under active development. There are currently about 100 residents, with the final number planned to be close to 400. Academy Village is located on the southeastern edge of Tucson, south of Saguaro National Park East, near the intersection of Old Spanish Trail and Camino Loma Alta.

The purpose of this website is to share some things about ourselves so that others may consider becoming residents. We also want to provide an avenue of communication between the folks who live here and those who may be interested but have not made the final decision. We want to share our experiences with you so you will have a better idea of what to expect if you come here to live.
