Geographical Information

Here is the map once again.  Academy Village is indicated by the red oval that is hiding the name of the road on which it lies.  The road's name is "Old Spanish Trail".

The map shows most of the east side of Tucson.  The scale can be judged from the fact that major streets indicated on this map are 1 mile apart.  The center of downtown Tucson is the intersection of Broadway and Stone, near the left edge of the map and just to the east of interstate 10.  The campus of the University of Arizona is just to the left of the large T in TUCSON, enclosed north-south between Speedway and 6th street, and east-west between Campbell and Euclid.

Tucson is a very spread out city, like a smaller Los Angeles.  Unlike Los Angeles, however, it has relatively light automobile traffic, except at the height of the winter season, a couple of weeks in February.
