The people and the lifestyle we sought

We had watched and read about the development of The Academy Village for several years. However, we were happy in Scottsdale, Arizona and not ready for full retirement or another major move. What motivated us to consider The Academy Village was actually The Arizona Senior Academy. Attending the January Conference in 1999 opened our eyes and vistas. Meeting about 75 “pioneers” already committed to The Village and others, like us, considering it convinced us. The Academy Village would bring together the people and the lifestyle we sought. Having given up bridge in undergraduate school and golf when it was no longer needed for business and political purposes, we certainly did not wish to move to a golf-and-bridge retirement community. However, we did explore several in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area – just to be sure.

The Academy Village attracts terrific people. We are surrounded by kindred spirits and challenging minds. That makes The Academy Village “Our Kind of Town.”
