I like the concept of living in a community where people are active in mind
and spirit as well as body, where we have access to meaningful work without
being on a payroll, and we are supported in staying healthy and fit as we age.
I also like being surrounded by the open sky and the land: lots of beautiful
desert within sight and within easy reach. And now we have developed great
friends among the adventuresome, creative and good hearted Academy Village residents.

The Academy Village is a community and living in community is important
to me. Here we have many opportunities not just to come together for activities,
but to actually create together a mutually stimulating and supportive way of
life. And the people here are doing just that! There is a very high
level of participation in every aspect of life here.

Something that we both love : The ease and convenience of having so much right here at the Village — from concerts to university courses to health and fitness services — frees us up to contribute to the larger community in both paid and volunteer work. Life here is truly easier and never boring!
